March 11 to be observed as ‘Shastriya Odia Bhasa Divas’

Odisha celebrating ‘Sashtriya Odia Bhasha Divas’ today.

     The state government has decided to observe March 11 as ‘Shastriya Odia Bhasa Divas’ 

in order to mark the anniversary of Odia language getting a classical status.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the Shastriya Bhasa Advisory 

Committee presided over by Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda at the State Secretariat.

Odia Become the Sixth Language of the country to get Classical Status. 

Now its Stands like Sanskrit,Tamil,Telugu,kanada and malayalam.
